Wine conflict, confronting Moldova and Russian Federation, definitely has economic elements, still the first and foremost is the political issue related to, first of all, the situation in Transnistria, at Moldovan-Ukrainian border, announced the political analyst of Carnegie Institute of Moscow, Dmitri Trenin, at the radio station Antena C. According to him, joint efforts of Chisinau and Kiev are not supported by Moscow, considering them as undermining actions of the existent status quo. Russia is not satisfied and uses its leverages by all means, Trenin noted. Regarding the Transnistrian conflict, according to the analyst, it is one of internal nature, occurred after the collapse of the USSR. According to Dmitri Trenin, it is rather complicated to combine the European integration policy of Moldova with that of country’s reintegration. Referring to European integration of Moldova, Trenin mentioned that this is not a matter of foreign policy of Chisinau, but rather an internal one. „Moldova will join Europe not when the agreement is concluded with Brussels, but when there will be similar institutions as that of Europe, when judicial decisions will be taken according to legislation and independently of political wills, when „telephonic right” will not exist anymore, and democracy will not rely only on formality of the right to vote and be elected. Europe is not in Brussels, or beyond Prut, Europe is within,” Trenin added.
