The disposable incomes of the population in the first quarter of this year rose by 10.3% compared with the corresponding period last year, to 2,353 lei a month on average per person, IPN reports.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the salary revenues are the main source of income, representing 40.8% of the disposable incomes. The social benefits represented 23.9% of the revenues of households, while the incomes earned from individual activities - 13.2%. Of these, 7.9% are incomes from individual agricultural activities, while 5.3% are incomes from individual non-agricultural activities. The cash transfers from abroad made up 17.5% of the revenues.
The incomes of the urban population were by 897.5 lei larger than the incomes of the rural population. The salaried activity is the main source of livelihood for the urban population. This represented 51.5% of all the incomes. For rural households, the salaried activity is also the main source of income, but this made up only 28.8% of all the revenues.
The population’s average monthly consumption costs in the first quarter of this year were 2,330 lei on average per person, up 11.4% compared with January-March last year. As usual, the largest part of the costs were incurred for food – 43.9%. Some 17.9% of a person’s incomes went on maintaining the home, 10.4% on clothing and footwear, 6.2% on healthcare, 4.6% on communications, 3.8% on transport, 3.4% on domestic appliances and furniture, 0.5% on education, etc.
In urban areas, the population allocated 41.4% of the monthly consumption costs for food products, while in rural areas – 46.6%. The pecuniary costs represented 90.7% of the total consumption costs of the population, while the nonpecuniary ones – 9.3%.
