Surgeon Anatol Ciubotaru, who was sacked amid the pandemic from the post of director of the National Clinical Hospital “T. Moșneaga”, is currently applying his knowledge and experience within the “SARS-Covid 19” Project of the Hannover Medicine School in Germany. The doctor made statements for IPN when being contacted for a comment.

Two weeks after the Commission for Exceptional Situations’ decision to dismiss him, which was taken after the director tested doctors, who worked with patients infected with the novel coronavirus in intensive care, at a private laboratory, Anatol Ciubotaru was already working on a program to prevent the infection of doctors of the COVID-19 Diagnosis and Triage Center in Hannover.

As the spread of the infection in Germany was reduced, the newly created center was conserved. But the project to protect medical staff in a hospital, which Anatol Ciubotaru was to put into practice, was extended so as to ensure the protection of doctors who contact with patients with COVID-19, especially when these are transported by ambulances.

The regrettable side of this subject is that when the rate of infection among doctors in Moldova is one of the highest in the world, local crisis situation managers do so that those who know and can provide expert solutions are “stimulated” to apply their knowledge and use possibilities on other meridians, said Nina Munteanu, ex-vice director of the same hospital, who resigned in protest at the decision to remove the director.
