Veronica Mihailov-Moraru said that the subject of her dismissal from the post of minister of justice was not discussed with anyone, and the decision belongs exclusively to Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The minister noted that she does not know whether or not she will be affected by the Cabinet reshuffles that were previously announced by the head of the Executive, IPN reports.

Veronica Mihailov-Moraru believes that, although she is criticized, "the justice sector reform is progressing and is in full swing."

After the presidential election, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, President Maia Sandu and Speaker Igor Grosu spoke publicly about the need to make changes in the justice reform process. Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru says that she has not discussed with anyone the subject of a possible dismissal and that she continues to fulfil her duties as minister.

"I have not discussed this subject with anyone. It is the Prime Minister's decision and I cannot comment more on this subject. Regardless of the decision taken, it is important that the work be streamlined. What needs to be done is to improve the work of the institutions that apply the law, that is of the implementing institutions. I am focused on my work, as are the other ministers. Personally, I have not had any direct discussion with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, the Speaker of the Parliament or other persons. It is important not to comment on this topic anymore and to see the Prime Minister's decision. This decision belongs entirely to the Prime Minister," Veronica Mihailov-Moraru stated in the program "At 360 degrees" on Radio Moldova.

The official categorically rejects any halting of the justice reform process and starting a new reform. According to Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, although intensely criticized by society, the process of extraordinary evaluation of judges and prosecutors bears fruit.

"In no case can the restarting of the justice sector reform from scratch be considered. The justice sector reform is in full swing. When we talk about the fight against corruption, we must separate the powers of the institutions involved. On the one hand, we have the Executive and the Parliament, which are responsible for developing policies. On the other hand, we have the law enforcement institutions, which are the implementing institutions, the ones that apply the law. If we refer to the justice sector reform, I think that in two years we have made a lot of progress. We have an extraordinary evaluation process as it is - criticized, challenged - but it is moving forward and the results have already been seen. We have a new composition of the SCP and the SCM. We have a prosecutor general who passed the vetting. We have the Supreme Court of Justice, which has already started to standardize the judicial practice," added the minister.

At the last meeting of the Executive on November 6, Prime Minister Dorin Recean spoke about the need for changes in the government team and announced a ten-day deadline for reshuffles. On Monday, November 11, Andrei Spînu announced his decision to vacate the post of Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development and to leave the Party of Action and Solidarity.
