During the winter holidays, the City Hall of Chisinau invites residents and visitors of the capital to explore the city's history in a festive atmosphere, creating memorable experiences for both children and parents, with a unique journey: the "Discover the City with Santa Claus" tourist trolleybus.
The themed trips are scheduled for December 28, 29, 2024, and January 4, 5, 2025, with the starting and ending point at the Triumphal Arch. The festively decorated trolleybus combines engaging information about Chișinău with sweet surprises specially prepared by Santa Claus for all children, IPN reports.

"The trolleybus has a limited capacity of 22 seats. Children up to 7 years old travel for free if accompanied by an adult. The fare for other passengers is 30 lei. We recommend securing your seats in advance due to high demand for this event", state City Hall representatives. During the one-hour journey, passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the city’s history, discover stories about iconic buildings, and get to know the personalities who contributed to the development of the capital. Audio guides, available in Romanian, Russian, and English, offer details about Chisinau’s culture and life, enriched with legends and curiosities.
The tourist trolleybus project was launched in 2021, marking the 585th anniversary of the first documented mention of Chisinau.
