Eighteen young people with disabilities found a job, while another eight were included in professional studies and courses within the project “Socioeconomic empowerment and employment of young people with disabilities” that is implemented by the Association “Motivatie” in a news conference at IPN.
One of the beneficiaries of the project Eugenia Buliga was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in childhood. Despite the disease, she managed to obtain qualifications and to become employed as an accountant. “Earlier I had another job, but I could not afford a decent living on my salary. I had to look for rented accommodation near my workplace because it’s hard for me to move. Now I’m satisfied with the salary and the job and with the place where I stay,” said Eugenia Buliga.
Because of a trauma sustained at birth, Cornel Baran is confined to a wheelchair. He works as a helpline dealer at a mobile phone carrier. He also does professional sports and forms part of the national Paralympic table tennis squad, ranking 333rd in the world.
The project “Socioeconomic empowerment and employment of young people with disabilities” aims to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities to work and to community life. The project is supported financially by SOIR Moldova (Swedish Organization for Individual Relief) and will last until 2017.
