The program “My Community” makes effort to support the local public authorities in their determination to ensure more efficient, more transparent and responsible administration towards the citizens so as to offer services of a highest quality for the population. “The enhancement of accessibility of public services provided at all the levels for the citizens, for businesspeople is a clear priority of the national digital agenda. The information and service centers for the citizens are designed to support this priority in an innovative way,” Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Țurcanu stated in the synchronized inauguration of seven information and service centers for the citizens, IPN reports.

“The modernization of the local public administration by using modern technologies is one of the Government’s activity directions in the digital development area. At the moment, the Electronic Governance Agency is managing a project called EAPL that envisions the introduction of technologies, automation in the local administration. It is a digital platform that will help the authorities to easier access data, the administrative processes offered by the central authorities. In fact, there will be ensured clear synergy between the local authorities that directly interact with the people in their localities and the central authorities that collect valuable data when services are provided,” stated Iurie Țurcanu.

“The citizen-centered principle is a new paradigm we adopted in our activity. We do not want the citizens to go to the authorities, to collect data, documents and files that they need to take to the authorities. We bring the services closer to the people through technologies so as to make them more accessible in their communities.”

As part of the program “My Community”, centers were opened inside mayor’s offices in Sângereii Noi, Cărpineni, Soroca, Dondușeni, Călărași, Sângera and Copceac. These will provide services for 28,000 citizens and are aimed at improving the citizens’ access to administrative services by reducing waiting time, making the document issuing process more transparent and saving citizens’ money.

Moldova has 12 such centers that benefit about 140,000 centers.

“My Community” is a USAID program implemented by IREX with the assistance of Slovak Aid.
