Differing opinions were stated about the televised interview of presupposed killer Vitalie Proca where this confesses that in 2012 he fired at businessman German Gorbuntsov by order of Vlad Plahotniuc, who now heads the Democratic Party of Moldova. Some say the self-denouncing statements have no value in oral form and should have been submitted to the competent bodied in written form. Others consider by these statements Vitalie Proca blames himself and the prosecution bodies are obliged to investigate all the circumstances. The issue was developed in the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

Ex-prosecutor Pavel Midrigan said that if Vitalie Proca had transmitted those statements in written form to the prosecution bodies, it would have been something else, but an interview for a TV channel without evidence is just words. He wondered why the interview with Vitalie Proca appeared namely now. “This interview didn’t appear accidentally now. Someone needed this,” stated Pavel Midrigan.

Gennady Cosovan, ex-minister of defense, said a correct prosecution body should examine Vitalie Proca’s statements so as to respect the presumption of innocence.

Lawyer Anatol Istrati noted Vitalie Proca denunciated himself by those statements and the prosecution bodies should investigate all the mentioned circumstances and persons involved. “The revelations made by Vitalie Proca contradict the prosecutors’ version that Renato Usatyi organized the attempt on citizen German Gorbuntsov. Accordingly, we have the statement of a person who admitted that he pulled the trigger and we have no other way than to believe these statements,” said the lawyer.

Kiril Motpan, secretary general of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, said the investigation bodies should do their job and find out who is really to blame in this case. “What is important is that we have self-denouncing statements. Proca should be treated as a denouncer. What do the law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Moldova do? They take a different position and make preliminary statements to diminish the impact of Proca’s interview,” he stated.

In an interview for Jurnal TV channel that was broadcast on November 2, Vitalie Proca, who was sentenced to jail in Romania, said that in 2012 he shot businessman German Gorbuntsov by order of Vlad Plahotniuc, but failed to kill this.
