The discrepancies between the Government and President Igor Dodon concerning the participation by Moldovan service members in exercises in Ukraine are a show, said experts invited to the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.
Programs director at the Center for Politics and Reforms Stefan Gligor said Igor Dodon has few areas of competence and few instruments to deliver his electoral promises, especially after acting in collusion and establishing a partnership with the Democratic Party in the case of the adoption of the law to change the electoral system. “These things reveal that it is a show and they need some subjects that would significantly distract attention and would generate polarization and a system of views that divide the people into two categories: those who are pro-West and those who are pro-Russia,” he stated, referring to the “war” between the Government and Parliament with the President over the Moldovan soldiers’ participation in exercises in Ukraine.
According to the head of the National Liberal Party Vitalia Pavlichenko, currently the Republic of Moldova needs a united unionist and Europeanist opposition so as to reach an impeachment. “Dodon should be “struck” politically and by media means and removed,” she stated.
Ex-MP Valentin Krylov said Igor Dodon continues to act as an active leader of the Party of Socialists and any of his steps is related to the preparation for the legislative elections. “The powers enjoyed by the President do not matter and the situation in Transnistria and the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation do not matter. The 2018 parliamentary elections are the key goal,” he noted.
Chairman of the Association “Stephan’s Followers” Dumitru Roibu said the armed forces of the Republic of Moldova should train on the country’s territory, not necessarily by military excises abroad. “As long as the law enables Igor Dodon to give the go-ahead or not, because he is the supreme commander of the armed forces, we should accept his position,” he stated.
