The duties of Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama were temporarily taken over by deputy minister Iurie Usurelu. The Ministry works in a normal regime and fulfills its obligations for the current period, the institution’s press service has said, quoted by IPN.
On March 15, anticorruption officers carried out searches in the office of Minister Eduard Grama, who was then escorted to the National Anticorruption Center for being questioned about the 30 hectares of farmed located in Stauceni commune of Chisinau municipality, which belonged to the College of Winegrowing and Winemaking.
On March 16, the National Anticorruption Center announced that prosecutors issued an indictment over passive corruption against the minister and are to submit a requisition to dismiss Grama from the post of minister to the Cabinet later today.
