An apartment building is to be erected illegally in a yard in Botanica district of Chisinau. Deputy mayor Victor Chironda said the bloc is to be built in the yard of already constructed blocks, close to the intersection of Decebal Blvd and Dacia Blvd. He told a news conference that such acts are illegal, IPN reports.

The deputy mayor said the General Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Division committed a number of violations in the process of preparing permissive documents in the building sector. “When I was on leave, the urbanism certificate came for signature. It was sent back for being finished and when I returned I found out many interesting things. The lot on which the building is to be erected was privatized in the most fraudulent way possible. The lot that was municipal property was sold based on a court decision,” stated the deputy mayor.

Victor Chironda noted that he filed a complaint and the accumulated evidence to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. Recently, he was informed that the file was received and was remitted to the National Anticorruption Center. He asked to take legal action over the method in which SRL Stil-Proiect Lux obtained the right to rent this lot that is 17 ares in area, at a symbolic price, based on a suspect court decision, and to determine the legality of the decision to lease out the lot on which capital constructions owned by other persons were situated and of the attempt to issue an evidently illegal urbanism certificate that runs counter to the public interest and the method of authorizing building works.

The deputy mayor also said that he came into conflict with mayor general Ion Ceban after he revealed illegalities related to the demolition of Național Hotel. His responsibilities were limited and an internal inquiry is conducted over his absence from work during several days.
