The deputy chairpersons of the Democratic Party (PDM) will manage by a specialized department within the party. The departments will draft bills that the PDM will submit to the Government and Parliament. The decision to set up the departments was taken by the PDM’s National Political Council on July 19, IPN reports.
After the Council’s meeting, the Democratic leader Marian Lupu said that the personnel of these departments will be selected by autumn. “The departments will be founded because the PDM, besides being the promoter of ideology at the level of tasks, priorities and statements, is able to work out solutions to the major problems faced by the Moldovan people,” said the chairman of the PDM.
Marian Lupu also said that the ministries promote policies, but the policies and solutions should be thought up and proposed in the party’s platform. By October, the departments will suggest a broad package of legislative initiatives and solutions.
Asked if the PDM is preparing for the election campaign, Marian Lupu said that a party starts to prepare for the campaign right after elections. “The political work of a party means not only propaganda and empty ideology, but also formulation of solutions to the people’s problems,” stated Marian Lupu.
First deputy chairman of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc said that the party decided to organize itself in a European style. “This is a very important stage in the process of modernizing the party. According to the congress’ decisions, a new stage in the development of the PDM starts with the creation of departments. We decided to follow the European example and to learn to organize ourselves according to the European norms and principles. The European parties also have such departments and their work produces very goods results,” stated Vlad Plahotniuc, who will be in charge of the department for internal organization of the party.
The Council decided unanimously that the PDM will strengthen the government by its actions, ensuring not only stability, but also efficiency and results.
