Denis Marandici becomes champion of Slovenia

One more Moldovan football became champion abroad. Fullback Denis Marandici, 23, has won the title in the championship of Slovenia together with NK Celje, IPN reports.

In the last stage, Celje drew at home with its main opponent Olimpija Ljubljana, 2-2. Marandici played throughout the game and was shown a yellow card. This is the first title for Celje during the 100 years of the club.

For Celje, Denis Marandici has played 15 matches this season. In his career, he played for the junior national teams of Moldova. Last November, he was included in the national Under-21 team by Engin Firat, but hasn’t yet made his debut.

Last week, Alexandru Epureanu became champion of Turkey with Istanbul Bașakșehir.
