Delegations from 13 foreign cities visit Chisinau on Temple Day

At the Chisinau’s Temple Day, which will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, delegations from 13 foreign cities arrived to Chisinau. The guests were invited to the City Hall, on Friday morning, where the interim Mayor Vasile Ursu welcomed their presence at Chisinau’s Day. Delegations from the municipalities and cities of Bucharest, Targoviste, Suceav, Vilnius, Ankara, Odessa, Kiev, Tel-Aviv, as well as the regions of Lubuskie (Poland), Reggio Emilia and Cita di Montesilvano (Italy) came to Chisinau. Collaboration agreements between the municipality of Chisinau and Lubuskie Province (Poland) and capital city of Lithuania, Vilnius were signed. Municipal authorities signed an intention protocol with Montesilvano town, Italy. Ursu qualified as necessary and useful the direct relations between the municipality of Chisinau and other cities on the principle of regional collaboration and European integration. The deputy Mayor of Vilnius, Algimantas Vacarinas says that collaboration relations between Vilnius and Chisinau started 5 years ago, when an intention protocol was signed. “And so we made the last step in strengthening our collaboration through an agreement and it is planned to elaborate an action plan for the implementation of joint projects”, Vakarinas mentioned. The marshal of Lubuskie Province, Andrzej Bochenski says that the agreement includes first of all economic relations, and further – collaboration in the fields of culture and youth. “Previously, culture was on the first place, but economy took its place”, the marshal declared. Andrzej Bochenski talked about internships for the specialists dealing with different funds, so that they could collaborate with the European Union and for instructing the representatives of Chisinau within the frameworks of the bureau in Brussels. “It would be nice to organize a trade center of Moldovan products and we hope that a similar one will be opened in Chisinau for the goods from Lubuskie”, the official specified. The astronaut Iuri Ghidzenco from Moscow, to whom municipal authorities offered the title of honorable citizen of Chisinau, was also invited at the Day of Chisinau. After the festivity from the City Hall of Chisinau, the delegations were invited to a reception in the wine cellars of Milestii Mici.
