The delegations that announced their presence at the European Political Community Summit already arrived in Moldova, except for the delegations of Turkey and San Marino. The information was confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, IPN reports.
The program of the EPC summit started at 10am with the meeting of delegations and will last for about two hours. President Maia Sandu meets the delegations that come to Bulboaca one by one. The officials make statements for the press. The President of Ukraine Volodymir Zelensky arrived the first.
The official opening of the summit begins at 12 noon and lasts for 30 minutes. At the end, the European leaders will take a family picture. Later, there will be held roundtable meetings that will center on security, energy and connectivity. Bilateral meetings are held in the afternoon. The summing up conference is given at 5pm by President Maia Sandu and European leaders.
A number of 656 journalists, 177 of whom are from Moldova, were accredited to cover the event. The largest number of journalists – 66 – are from France. There will also be representatives of the media from China, Argentina and other non-EU member states.
The second EPC Summit is hosted today by Moldova. The first event of the kind was held in Prague in 2022.
