The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has extended the deadline for submissions to the design contest for jubilee and commemorative coins until June 5, 2pm, IPN reports.

The National Bank encourages all citizens who have reached the age of 18, as well as legal entities, to express their graphic vision of future coins. The number of drafts submitted by a participant for a topic is not limited. Participants are required to comply with copyright and related rights. By participating, the author of the design agrees to the processing of personal data.

The requirements for the design of the coins, examination and evaluation conditions, remuneration, including other important details, are set out in the Design procedure for jubilee and commemorative coins 2023.

The commemorative coins are issued by the NBM, have numismatic value and can be used as means of payment. The first commemorative coin was issued in 1996, in five years of the proclaiming of the Republic of Moldova’s independence. The first series of coins was devoted to Moldova’s monasteries. Launched in 2000, the series consists of 20 silver coins that illustrate churches of Moldova.
