The Diaspora Acasa Reuseste ("DAR 1+3") program has been extended until 2030. Additionally, the minimum amount for a project has increased from 300,000 to 400,000 lei, and the government's contribution rises from 250,000 to 350,000 lei. These provisions are included in a project approved by the government on Wednesday, IPN reports.

Another update involves expanding the eligible areas. Citizens from the diaspora will be able to collaborate with local authorities to implement infrastructure, environmental protection, energy efficiency projects, as well as culture, education, and social protection projects.

Moreover, the process for accessing projects will be simplified, and the application can be submitted in electronic format.

"DAR 1+3" is an initiative encouraging the diaspora to invest in the economic and social development of the Republic of Moldova. Project funding is based on the "1+3" formula: diaspora + Government of the Republic of Moldova, local public authorities, and development partners. Since 2020, over 194 local development projects have been completed through this program.

Today, the government also approved changes regarding the organization of Diaspora Days. The period will now be flexible rather than fixed, as it was previously, and the role of organizer will be assigned to the Diaspora Relations Office of the State Chancellery. The DAR program, aimed at children from the diaspora, will become an integral part of the activities held during Diaspora Days.
