The Central Election Commission has a new member. This is Dana Munteanu who was appointed to the post by the votes of 53 MPs, IPN reports, with reference to the Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Division.
Dana Munteanu is a bachelor of law who started her career at the Central Election Commission in 2012. Since 2016 until present, she held the post of deputy head of the Commission’s Election Management Division.
The Central Election Commission has nine members. Eight of them are named by Parliament, while one member by the President. The CEC members cannot be removed. They must not be members of parties or other sociopolitical organizations.
