Archer Dan Olaru achieved a new great result. The athlete who carried Moldova’s flag at the 2012 Olympic Games has qualified for the final of the World Juniors Target Archery Championship that is taking place in Ankara, IPN reports.
Before the final, Olaru scored four victories: 6-0 against Johannes Maier of Germany; 6-4 against Geoffrey Mortemousque of France; 6-2 against Yuri Belli of Spain, and in the semifinal 7-1 against Ukraine’s Roman Sheremet. In the March 6 final, the Moldovan athlete faces Italy’s David Pasqualucci.
Dan Olaru, 19, is to also take part in the tournaments for earning qualification for the Rio Olympics.
