The Moldovan-Romanian relations must advance from sentimental relations to serious relations, based on economy, Dan Dugaciu, director of the Institute of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Romanian Academy, said in the program “European horizon” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“The biggest problem in the relations between Moldova and Romania is that they didn’t pass from the flower bridges to investment bridges. The loan provided to Moldova by the Government of Romania represents an important assistance for Chisinau. But Moldova needs investments to survive,” said Dungaciu.

Dan Dungaciu also said that the Government of Moldova must focus on reforms, not only on the identification of money. “Romania made a gesture by offering money to a government that did nothing of what it should have done. Any money provided to Moldova risks becoming a bad investment. I’m bothered about the lack of transparency in the provision of this loan. Romania could have put forward particular conditions on Moldova, concerning the implementation of reforms. They should have told about this,” he stated.

Romania and Moldova on October 7 signed a lending agreement to the value of €150 million.
