Three companies on the verge of bankruptcy, based in the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti and in Floresti district, caused damage of over 60 million lei to the state, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, accounting documents and computers containing information about the financial activity of the three companies were seized during searches at their head offices. At the offices of managers, the police confiscated different registers, files and draft double-entry bookkeeping documents.
The seized materials are being examined to determine the causes and conditions that led to the insolvency of the three companies and the role of their managers in bankrupting the companies and appropriating state property.
Those to blame face 8 to 15 years in jail for appropriation.
