The Dignity and Truth Platform appreciated the authorities' decision to allow the safe return of pupils and students to educational institutions. Following the introduction of the compulsory bi-weekly testing of unvaccinated teaching, non-teaching and auxiliary staff in schools, which caused discontent in society, the DA Platform put forward a compromise solution. The DA Platform proposed to test school and university employees with rapid antigen tests received from donations, namely referring to the 100 000 tests recently received from Romania.

According to former DA Platform MP, Liviu Vovc, this would provide enough time for the authorities to carry out an effective campaign to combat fake news concerning vaccines and vaccination, which gained momentum following poor communication under the previous administration.

The DA Platform said that a proactive promotion strategy regarding the importance of vaccination would significantly accelerate immunization levels among educational institution employees. According to the latest official data, provided by the Ministry of Education in July, 66.7% of employees are reportedly vaccinated with at least the first dose, while 41.94% are fully vaccinated.

Liviu Vovc said that the latest CNESP decision has sparked heated discussions among teachers and employees of educational institutions. Given the low salary levels among employees of educational institutions, the decision would become a financial burden that could lead to resignations in areas that already have an acute shortage of teachers.

Liviu Vovc added that the first pandemic year was managed unprofessionally. More than once, CNESP decisions were contradictory and were reversed shortly after being adopted. Additionally, overly strict measures were put in place in breach of the Constitution. Mistakes in the management of the pandemic were made because experts in the field were not involved in decision-making.
