Curteian announces extended lineup for matches against Austria and Russia

The new coach of the national football team of Moldova Alexandru Curteian made public the lineup for the encounters with Austria and Russia of the 2016 European Championship, IPN reports.

The match against Austria will take place in Chisinau on October 9, while against Russia in Moscow on October 12. The lineup includes four players with whom Curteian worked at the national U-21 team during the last qualifying competition, namely Alexei Coshelev, Vasile Jardan, Vadim Rata, and Catalin Carp. Striker Gheorghe Boghiu was summoned to the national team after a longer absence. Six of the players come from Zimbru.

The extended lineup:

–  Ilie Cebanu (Mordovia, Russia), Nicolae Calancea (Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt, Romania), Alexei Koshelev (Saxan Ciadir-Lunga) - goalkeepers;

– Alexandru Epureanu (Istanbul BB, Turkey), Igor Armas (Kuban, Russia), Victor Golovatenko (Sibir, Russia), Petru Racu, Vitalie Bordian (both Veris Chisinau), Stefan Burghiu, Ion Jardan, Iulian Erhan (all from Zimbru Chisinau), Veaceslav Posmac, Vasile Jardan (both from Dacia Chisinau) - fullbacks;

– Alexandru Gaţcan (Rostov, Russia), Artur Ionita (Verona, Italy), Andrei Cojocari, Alexandru Antoniuc, Artur Patra (all from Milsami Orhei), Alexandru Dedov, Alexandru Vremea, Anatol Cheptine (all from Zimbru Chisinau), Serghei Gheorghiev (Sheriff Tiraspol), Vadim Rata (FC Tiraspol), Catalin Carp (CFR Cluj, Romania) - halfbacks;

– Eugen Sidorenco (Hapoel Nazareth Illit, Israel), Igor Picușciac (Amkar, Russia), Radu Ginsari (Sheriff Tiraspol) and Gheorghe Boghiu (FC Tiraspol) – strikers.

Alexandru Curteian was named coach of the national football team last week, following the dismissal of Ion Caras.
