The current Government has the same priorities as the previous two executives, said former Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who heads the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). In an interview for Moldpres, the politician said that when they started the negotiations on the creation of the new Government, they put emphasis on the necessity of continuing the reforms, the course to democratization and Europeanization of society, the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the decentralization process, IPN reports.

“We all want to live in a unified, developed, democratic and European state with a high level of prosperity and we thus should work. I refer not only to the governmental team, but to all our people, who deserve better living conditions,” added the Liberal-Democratic leader.

Asked what he does now after no longer part of the governmental team, Vlad Filat said that as the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, the responsibility for the good management of the affairs in the country is evidently borne by the party and by him personally. “Furthermore, I would like to mention that after leaving the post of Prime Minister, I didn’t detach myself from the processes I administered. For example, every several days I travel to settlements to see how the projects of national importance launched earlier are implemented,” he stated.

The politician also said that the responsibility for governance is a common one and they will work together to strengthen the state institutions so that the country develops according to the path chosen earlier. “All the concessions I made were in the name of stability and the democratic and European future of Moldova. For the PLDM, it is very important that all the promises made to the people be fulfilled and that the people should be offered decent living conditions in a democratic and European state,” said Vlad Filat.

The leader of the PLDM was dismissed from the post of Prime Minister on March 5. He had held this post since 2009.
