After a pause of two years, the Cow Festival returns. Thus, life-size cattle models will be displayed in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Chisinau on June 1. Young artists will paint these.

President of the National Association of Milk and Dairy Producers “Lapte” Carolina Linte has told IPN that the festival is an older European practice. In Chisinau, the two-year pause in holding the festival was generated by the more difficult situation of producers.

“The goal of the event is to familiarize the consumer with the milk production and processing process – from the pitchfork to fork, from the farm to product. We want our children to also know what milk is, where it comes from and how hard it is to produce and process the milk because we have very nice traditions in this area and the taste of our products is very specific compared with the imported products,” stated Carolina Linte.

Later, the festival organizers will exhibit the painted cows in a number of localities in different regions of the country.
