The number of deaths caused by the COVID-19 disease worldwide exceeded 100,000. More than 102,000 deaths were reported on April 10 alone. Of these, over 2,000 were recorded in the United States, where the death toll now stands at about 18,700, IPN reports.
Globally, Italy reported the largest number of deaths – 18,800. The number of fatalities in Spain is at 16,000, while in France at over 13,000.
More than 1.7 million people became infected with the novel coronavirus worldwide. Over 502,000 cases were confirmed in the U.S., over 158,000 in Spain and more than 147,000 in Italy.
A number of 1,438 cases of infection with COVID-19 were recorded in Moldova so far. Twenty-nine infected people died.
