The Comrat Court annulled the decision of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia by which Alexandru Tarnavschi was dismissed from the position of deputy chairman of the legislative body of the region. The court found that the dismissal decision is illegal and violates Tarnavschi's rights.

"Such decisions offer hope that the principles of legality and the right to free opinion remain inviolable. We keep our dignity, our faith in justice and we do not kneel down before Ilan Shor, who believes that Gagauzia is his fiefdom: a territory of legal anarchy and fraudulent schemes," said Alexandru Tarnavchi, commenting on the Comrat Court’s decision.

This was a repeated attempt to dismiss Alexandru Tarnavschi. The first time a relevant decision was voted last spring, on May 7, when he was accused of "the destruction of Gagauzia by order of the masters from Chisinau". The deputies of the People's Assembly were dissatisfied with the fact that Tarnavschi opposed the payments through the "Mir" cards (additions for pensioners and public servants from Ilan Shor).

The deputies also disapproved of the fact that Tarnavschi did not support the statement of the speaker of the People's Assembly Dmitry Konstantinov, on granting the status of "interethnic language" to the Russian language. Out of the 20 local elected officials who voted in favor, only Mihail Jelezoglo was against the dismissal. In protest, he resigned from the position of chairman of one of the commissions.

On July 23, the Comrat Court invalidated the decision taken by the People's Assembly. On September 14, the People's Assembly voted again for Tarnavschi's dismissal. Out of 18 deputies who participated in the vote, only one was against.
