The National Integrity Authority identified about 630,000 lei in unjustified wealth at a family of public servants. These are earnings obtained since August 2016 until March 2023. Ștefan Meteoglo is a civil service official with special status at the National Investigation Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and his wife, Victoria Meteoglo, is a public employee who works at the Prosecutor General's Office, IPN reports.
The Authority announced that it will send the case to court for examination and the unjustified wealth could be confiscated.
When the court passes its judgement, the two will cease their activities and will also be deprived of the right to exercise particular duties during 3 years.
The ascertaining document also presents the stance of Ștefan Meteoglo. He says that the calculations for particular contracts for the purchase of a car were wrong and that he is ready to present the necessary contracts. Victoria Meteoglo’s position is not mentioned in the document. The persons concerned have the right to challenge the document as it is not final.
