Country Planning Conference 2007 is held at the Ministry of Defense

Country Planning Conference 2007 is held at the Ministry of Defense on 27 - 28 March, according to Moldovan-American bilateral military cooperation plan, according to ministry’s report. Minister of Defense Valeriu Plesca and Us Ambassador in Chisinau Heather M. Hodges, present at the opening ceremony, mentioned in their speeches that the bilateral cooperation process between the defense structures of both states allowed last years to organize joint projects in military field as well as in civil one. In the opinion of both officials, achieving bilateral military cooperation plans increased the level of inter-operability of military units of National Army with their counterparts of other states, fact the allows to attend successfully of the national military staffs in peace missions in different zones of the world, they underlined. The ministry announced as well that during these two days the representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Moldova, Civil protection and Exceptional Situation Department within MAI, USA Force Headquarters in Europe and National Guard of the state Northern Caroline will revise the activities approved previously for this year, will draft and update the goals and aims of the Country Working Plan for 2007. According to lieutenant colonel Valeriu Mija, the head of military and international relations department, the assessment of those 30 activities planned for 2007 will be made in order to set the organizing and achieving priorities. Moldovan-American cooperation in the area of defense is made on the ground of the Memorandum on cooperation in military field between the Ministry of Defense of Moldova and US Defense Department, concluded on 4 December 1995.
