Some experts consider the protest set for April 24 can get out of control, while others believe this will take place peacefully. Contradictory statements on the issue were made in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Media analyst Cristian Tabara said the announced protest could be marked by the use of violence. “I understand the role of protests, but cannot understand the role of rubber tires. The smokescreen can fill the people with panic. There is the previous experience of the Republic of Moldova and of Ukraine too. The situation can get out of control,” he stated.

Political analyst Roman Mihaes noted that the April 24 protest could witness violence. “The goal pursued by the protest organizers is to exert pressure on the government so that this ultimately concedes and leaves. It’s clear that something like this cannot be obtained by a one-day peaceful protest. Most probably, they will resort to violence, to extremist actions,” he said.

Analyst Corneliu Ciurea expressed a different opinion. “Nothing will happen and the protest will not be so large. Things started to improve and to return to normality as regards the relations with the EU and with Moscow. I think the organizers will not manage to bring together many protesters. I don’t think that the protest will have a serious impact,” he stated.
