Local authorities across Moldova are encouraged to develop programs dedicated to the youth and apply to become the 2020 Youth Capital, which next year will reach its tenth edition. Ineligible are Chisinau and holders of the title for the last three years.
Ministry of Education state secretary Adrian Băluţel said the contenders will have to revive the local youth councils, show more support to the youth organizations, and allocate more funds for youth activities. In turn, the winning town will get to host a series of events throughout next year and receive a prize of 1 million lei.
Applications should be submitted to the Ministry of Education by November 8.
This year, the title of the Youth Capital has been held by the town of Costești, Ialoveni district.
