Card payments cannot be made in all the municipal trolleybuses in which the e-ticketing system is being tested. Only cash is collected in some of them. Contacted by IPN for details, director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Dorin Cherny said the switchover to the e-ticketing system will last for up two weeks.
Dorin Cherny noted that payment terminals will be installed this week in a number of trolleybuses and card payments will be possible in all the 90 trolleybuses chosen for the pilot project in two weeks.
The pilot e-ticketing project in public transport in Chisinau was launched on March 16. It is implemented on trolleybus routes No. 10, 22 and 30 and bus routes No. 2 and 5. The units of transport will be outfitted with mobile terminals for cashless payments.
