The president of the Consumer Protection Association is launching in politics. Petru Gutul told a news conference on Friday he was heading an initiative group to create a new party to struggle for social justice and equity, Info-Prim Neo reports. The future party “For Moldova’s Rebirth” wants to be oriented towards solving the needs of the ordinary people, of citizens who have had no support from the state up to now, Gutul believes. Petru Guţul says the idea to launch a political formation came from the will to protect the interests of all the citizens. Especially, they will stress on the people with an average living standard and on socially vulnerable people. The initiative group wants the citizens to have jobs and decent salaries. Another priority of the new party is related to the re-establishment and improvement of the economic climate. According to Gutul, the party will encourage the small and mid-sized businesses. They plan to intervene into the fiscal policy and to contribute to lower the taxes. In order to insure the rights of all ethnicities in Moldova, the future party will propose that the Moldovan, Russian, Ukrainian and Gagauz languages become state languages. The members of the initiative group did not offer details as to the clear political orientation of the party and its place within the political spectrum. Petru Gutul has said none of the initiative group, except for himself, is a member of the association protecting the consumers. Petru Gutul says the party will be launched in the fall of this year.
