Civil society wants the new government program to envision principally changes for the economic development, in the financial-banking sector and reforms in the food safety area and e-Government. The civil society organizations also demand changes in the national defense and security system, reorganization of the pension system, amendment of the Labor Code, implementation of the 2024 Environment Strategy, reformation of the justice sector and of the Ministry of the Interior. Proposals for the program were formulated in the consultations held by the candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca with representatives of civil society, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the consultations involved representatives of the National Participation Council, the NGO Council, the Institute of Public Policy, the Anticorruption Alliance, the National Youth Council of Moldova, the National Business Agency, East-Europe Foundation, etc.
“After holding a series of consultations these days, I saw that emphasis is put on similar problems such as the necessity of reviewing the Labor Code, the pension system, and the legislation on social protection. It is important to want to move on. We should continue doing good things and make cardinal changes in the areas where it is necessary,” said Iurie Leanca.
He assured that the Government will take into consideration the submitted proposals, including through the platform http://particip.gov.md/, and pleaded for strengthening cooperation with civil society.
