Consuls general for Padua, Chicago and Sacramento designated

The Cabinet on Wednesday nominated three consuls general at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). These are Vadim Zmeu, who was designated consul general in Padua, Italy, Anton Lungu – in Chicago, the U.S., and Maxim Arghir – in Sacramento, the U.S., IPN reports.

Mihai Mîțu, secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Vadim Zmeu is a career diplomat, with 18 years of experience of work at the Ministry. He held various positions, including managerial ones, in diplomatic missions. He currently manages the Consular Affairs Division of the MFA as interim head.

Anton Lungu is also a career diplomat, with an ascending professional career and 17 years of experience of work at the MFA. He held various positions both at the MFA and in diplomatic missions. He currently serves as minister-counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the United States of America.

Maxim Arghir is another career diplomat, with over 11 years of experience of service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He currently manages the Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Padua.

The Consulates General of the Republic of Moldova in the United States of America – in Chicago and Sacramento – will be inaugurated this month.
