The Conservative Party (PC) has cited numerous infringements of the electoral process both in Chisinau and across the country, and joins other political parties that call for the annulment of the elections and repeat second round voting, PC leader Natalia Nirca told today a press conference held at Info-Prim Neo.
In her words, there are great suspicions that the poll outcomes were fabricated and that is why the party lodged a complaint with the Central Election Commission and will also take action in court.
The PC leader mentioned that the request is endorsed by the Christian-Democrat People’s Party, the Social Democracy Party, the Democrat Party, the Social Liberal Party and other political organisations. If the request is not accepted, massive protest actions will possibly arise, the representatives of the party stated.
Among the most severe election violations, Nirca named the favouring of the ruling party in the process of registering candidates for Chisinau mayor, the Moldovan leadership’s interference in the election campaign, the use of administrative resources, pressure on candidates, including on PC’s ones. Besides, Nirca said, in a number of polling places in Chisinau the count of the ballots took place in a fraudulent manner, and the results obtained by the Conservative Party in some polling stations are up to five times lower than they should actually be.
In case the second round voting takes places, PC urges its voters to vote for Dorin Chirtoaca for Chisinau mayor, although, in the party’s opinion, he will not be able to change things in the municipality without the support of a solid team and party.
