Journalist Valeriu Reniță said a consensus will be reached on the formation of the new government and the snap elections will be avoided. According to him, each of the parties that entered Parliament consist of reasonable people who think about the country’s wellbeing and in such a situation the national interest not to delay the formation of a parliamentary majority too much should prevail, IPN reports.
“If ACUM does not want to discuss an alliance with the Socialists or with the Democrats, the Democratic Party should try to form an alliance with the Party of Socialists and this should be considered legitimate. Many citizens would probably not be afraid of such an alliance,” stated the journalist.
Political commentator Vlad Țurcanu said the discussions that were held at the Presidential Office can serve as a scenario for forming a future collation between the PSRM and the PDM. If Moldova is dependent on financing from the West and the European market, no party, even the PSRM, can limit itself to such cooperation on the European dimension. “That’s why the moment of forming the coalition is delayed as they want to reach a compromise that would not cause too much damage to the Socialists,” stated Vlad Țurcanu. According to him, there is a slim chance for th PSRM to accept the bloc ACUM’s invitation even if the Socialists are closer to the Democrats by their way of being.
Jurist Pavel Midrigan said the discussions that were held at the Presidential Office between the President and the Democratic Party didn’t produce results. The bloc ACUM wants to lump the PDM and the PSRM together, but they will not succeed as the Democrats do not want to lose the aura of the European integration. The external factor plays an important role on Moldova’s political arena in the current situation.
