A large conference with the participation of teachers will be held on March 3-7 with the aim of promoting education in the fields of renewable energy, climate change, waste management and a sustainable lifestyle. There will also be presented the results of the testing and piloting of the "Energy and Climate Education" project, implemented with the support of the European Union and UNDP Moldova, IPN reports.

According to the conference organizers, the teachers involved in piloting the project will have the opportunity to share their experiences, to treat the continuity of teaching educational modules on renewable energy and climate change, and to learn about future educational concepts.

Also, the possibility of revising the teaching materials for three optional subjects - ecological education, renewable energy sources, climate and society - will be analyzed. One of the proposals is to merge the subjects into a new generic subject and work out new teaching materials.

In 2024, students from the Republic of Moldova had the opportunity to study concepts related to energy and climate, integrated into existing school subjects, such as physics, geography, education for society, and personal development.

The educational modules were supported by the European Union and UNDP Moldova and designed in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Environment and the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova.
