On the occasion of the National Day of Romania celebrated on December 1, a symphonic music concert was held at the Organ Hall in Chisinau, IPN reports. Academician Valeriu Matei, director of the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, who was one of the organizers of the concert, said culture is that factor that unites us after different kinds of interests divide us.

“The rapprochement between Moldova and Romania is important, especially because we have things in common that unite us. We have a common culture and literature and are eager to embrace the same European values and to join together in the big European family. Romania, which is our elder sister, helped us and will help us further to become part of the civilized world,” stated the academician.

In the concert, Romanian conductor Cristian Florea and soloist Viniciu Moroianu performed arias from the repertoires of composers Bela Bartok, F. J Haydn, and Dinu Lipatti.
