The Comrat Court of Appeals postponed the hearing on Nicolai Dudoglo’s challenge concerning the rigging of the elections for the Governor of Gagauzia until January 17, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the electoral staff of Nicolai Dudoglo says the hearing was put off because the Mayor of Comrat fell ill. The communiqué says that a number of participants in the previous hearing on this case held on January 12 observed that the Comrat electoral authority is biased towards the supporters of Mihail Formuzal, who was reelected as Governor. Mayor of Comrat Nicolai Dudoglo claims serious violations were committed in the second round of voting on December 26 and demands invalidating the election outcome. The head of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Anna Harlamenko said recently that she will collect signatures in favor of a referendum on Mihail Formuza’s dismissal.
