The composer and singer Mihai Dolgan has been congratulated by the City Hall and municipal councillors on the occasion of his 65th anniversary.
According to the City Hall press release, interim mayor Veaceslav Iordan wished the famous artist health, mentioning that the leader of “Noroc” band celebrates 50 years of artistic activity at the same time with his beautiful anniversary. On behalf of the municipality, Iordan has presented the composer a gratitude letter and a colour TV set.
For his part, Mihai Dolgan emphasised that the tradition established by the City Hall to congratulate outstanding persons of our national culture is a beautiful gesture and a proof of respect and recognition of their activity. The singer confessed that he is impressed and promised to compose a new song, dedicated to Chisinau.
Mihai Dolgan is one of the founders and leaders of the band called “Noroc”, established back in 1967. Over the time, the band led by Mihai Dolgan composed many hits, some of them remaining popular for many years. The song “An Artist Sings" was listed for a long time among the first ten melodies in the British charts, “Noroc” being recognised as one of the best bands from the ex-Soviet Union. Even today the songs “Why do Guitars Cry” or “Spring” continue to be performed far and wide by different generations.
