The Communist Party has again accused the Moldovan government of delaying the negotiation of a so-called basic political treaty with Romania, which the Communists say would further secure Moldova's statehood and independence.
“The current government sees European integration also as a process of Moldo-Romanian integration and we need to reveal this intention. I am sure there must be a hidden agenda as well”, MP Grigore Petrenco told a press conference on Wednesday.
At the same conference MP Iurie Muntean criticized the Moldovan parliamentary Commission on Foreign Affairs for failing to address the “key issues” of the bilateral relationship when meeting with a delegation of Romanian Senators earlier this week. “There is a profound impression that the current Moldovan government is suffering from the little brother's syndrome”.
