The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists (EBCS) said that it worked out a clear view on the modernization of the national health system, first of all by increasing investments. The Communists and the Socialists promise to double investments in the health system during the next four years, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalco said the electoral objectives that refer to the population’s health were set and can be put into practice immediately after the new Government is formed after the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. They include the provision of medical institutions with qualified personnel, overcoming of the discrepancy in the access to high-quality medical services between different groups of people, including rural and urban residents.

The EBCS promises to implement modern digital and information systems in the medical assistance system, to propagate a healthy lifestyle, to determine the population’s state of health at all the stages of life, to improve the system for rehabilitating patients with chronic diseases, to extend the nomenclature of medicines accessible to the population, to improve the system of compensated drugs, etc.

The bloc’s candidate for MP Rita Manole reiterated the objective to increase the salaries in the public health system by 40%. The financial motivation will contribute to keeping the specialists in the health system and preventing their exodus.

“Each village or commune will have a medical center and a drugstore. The children under 18, pregnant women and mothers during the first year of the child’s birth will be offered free dental services. In rural areas, the annual prophylactic exams among the population at enterprises and education institutions will be restored. The program “A doctor for you” will be extended considerably,” promises the EBCS.

Candidate Ecaterina Medvedeva spoke about the measures to motivate young medical specialists. The system of concessions for young specialists with medical and pharmaceutical studies working in rural areas will be strengthened. Students from rural areas will be admitted to medical institutions without tuition and will be offered free places in dorms.
