The Bloc of Communists and Socialists and their supporters today organized a new protest rally outside the Government building. They accused the government of illegal privatizations and high prices, branding the Action and Solidarity Party “the party of poverty and destruction”.

MP Grigore Novac declared that Moldovans have ended up not being able to afford the most basic necessities. “Because of the PAS government’s negligence and unwillingness to solve people’s problems, we have come to see farmers blocking roads, we see how large companies, such as Calea Ferată, Macon and others, intentionally go bankrupt”, the parliamentarian said.

MP Adrian Albu declared that the government “has money for armaments, but no money for pensioners”, accusing it of following orders from “those who sit behind them and pull the strings”. According to him, the current government does not know how to work and is putting the country in debt.

“It is a disgrace to see pensions being indexed below inflation, at the same time, to offer salaries of tens of thousands of lei to ministers, prosecutors, judges, ANRE leaders, to spend millions to organize summits in Bulboaca, rallies, to buy radars worth 14 million euros. But they don’t have money to spend on our elders, who built this country”, said MP Bogdan
Țîrdea.

MP Alla Pilipetskaya declared that “the government is robbing the population through high tariffs and prices, which increase as the ministers’ salaries increase (…) PAS deceives people with European integration and convinces us that everything is fine here. But the truth is, things will only get better without PAS”.

The spokesperson of the Government, Daniel Vodă, stated that the executive does not comment on the demands of the demonstrators, adding that anyone is free to protest as long as the law is observed and the rights of other citizens is respected. “The Government, for its part, continues the mission of contributing to the improvement of living conditions. We do not want to politicize the subjects when we think about the interests of the citizens and we invite all actors in our society to contribute concrete solutions for the benefit of the people”, said Daniel Vodă.
