Communist lawmakers suggest dismissing Marian Lupu

The Communist parliamentary group announced that it will submit a legislative initiative to convoke an extraordinary session of Parliament in three days to consider dismissing Speaker Marian Lupu and First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, Info-Prim Neo reports. MP Anatolie Zagorodnyi said the ruling alliance continues to act as earlier. Therefore, the Communist Party seeks the discharge of the Head of Parliament and First Deputy Head of Parliament. Marian Lupu said the Communist MPs can demand only the dismissal of the Speaker, not yet of the First Deputy Speaker. He added that if the decision on his discharge is drafted in accordance with the law, it will be examined in Parliament. The PCRM has sought the dismissal of Vlad Plahotniuc since last year. The legislature even examined a relevant draft decision, but Marian Lupu stated that it was a procedural mistake and the decision shouldn’t have been discussed.
