The communist councillors want to dismiss the manager of the “Central Market” Municipal Enterprise, Ion Stratulat. At the meeting held on Wednesday, April 17, the Chisinau Municipal Council included the issue in the agenda but it was postponed for the next meeting. The draft decision of CMC says that the unfavourable vote for Stratulat grounds on the fact that he did not fulfil his tasks and did not eliminate the trade of prohibited products. Also, it was found that the financial means transferred to the local budget do not correspond to the real number of trade places on the territory of the marketplace. Ion Stratulat was appointed by the CMC as the Administrator-General of the Central Marketplace in 2005. Although a contest was organised for this office, and 12 persons applied for it, municipal councillor Oleg Cernei told Info-Prim Neo that Stratulat won only due to the support of the communists. According to the councillor, he fell into the disfavour of the present administration of Chisinau and government, and as a result might pay with his job. “I think the decision is financially motivated, because the Central Market is an institution which has a significant income which have fired up someone’s interests”, he says. Cernei says that in case the councillors will insist upon the dismissal of Ion Stratulat and Svetlana Chifa, “Moldova Noastra” Alliance will request the dismissal of several public servants who are included in the electoral lists of the Communist Party. In this context, Cernei mentioned that the fact that the Party included on its lists the head of the Finance Department, Tatiana Cunetchi, head of the Education, Science, Youth and Sport Department, head of the Municipal Centre of Preventive Medicine, Iurie Panzaru, shows that the public servants in Chisinau are not unbiased as the laws require, but listen the orders of the government party.
