Committee of Helsinki of Moldova requires stopping the process of Transnistrian regime to attack the members of non-governmental organisations

Committee of Helsinki of Moldova addressed to central and local authorities of the country and international organisations an appeal requiring implementation of measures stopping the practice of separatist regime of Tiraspol to attack employees of non-governmental organisations. The appeal was made after a member of the Committee Helsinki, Maxim Belinschi, was aggressed on14 March and threatened with death by the employees of the so-called ministry of state security of left bank of Dniestre. Maxim Belinschi stated at a press conference that he has come to Tiraspol to participate as observer the trial of the pensioner Ala Misin, organiser of protest actions. Near the court, Maxim Belinschi was got on a car VAZ-2109, with numbers of Chisinau, with hand and eyes tied, and brought on the bank of Dniestre, in a deserted place. Persons with masks, who kidnapped him put a gun to his front and forced him to answer certain questions, heard at a radio or telephone. After he was warned not appear anymore in Transnistria, disposed of the bag with documents, Maxim Belinschi was left tied on the bank of the river. The chairman of the Committee Helsinki, Stefan Uratu, noted that this is not the first case of mistreatment of persons at the order of „criminal regime of Tiraspol”. In July 2004, some members of the Committee Helsinki of Tiraspol and of the Fund for human rights and effective policy, Alexandr Radcenco and Nicolae Buceatchi, but also the chairman of the organisation Vzaimodeistvie, Oxana Alistratov, were aggressed. Along 15 years, in Transnistria, many persons unsuitable for administration of Tiraspol have disappeared, the bodies of persons who tried to oppose to indications of the leadership of the unrecognised republic were found, Uratu said. „We are encouraged by the fact that the authorities of the state and international organisations understood the danger coming from Tiraspol,” the chairman of the Committee Helsinki of Moldova mentioned. He warned that lack of appropriate measures would lead to that the infringements would continue, and the people will be left as prey.
