Senior state officials, together with war veterans and their relatives, will take part in a commemoration meeting at the Memorial Complex “Eternity”, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II, on May 9. Afterward, flowers will be laid at commiserative plaques and the monuments “Eternal Fire”, “Stele of Moldovan Heroes” and “Grieving Mother”, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, commemoration meetings, laying of flowers, festive concerts and holiday meals for the veterans of World War II will be staged in all the settlements of Moldova. The military orchestras of the National Army and the Orchestra of the Ministry of the Interior will perform in public gardens.
Trips for students to the Memorial Complex “Serpeni Bridgehead” will be organized throughout May, while the education institutions will hold the Peace Lesson. There will also be staged the Festival “Songs of Faith, Hope and Love”. Book exhibitions and meetings with veterans will be mounted in libraries and other public institutions.
The General Police Inspectorate calls on the motorists to avoid the streets Mitropolit B. Bodoni, Alexei Mateevici, Hancesti and Pan-Halippa and the Great National Assembly Square in the period of the commemoration events.
