MP Vlad Batrîncea, leader of the Communists and Socialists group, has complained to the Constitutional Court over a number of “scandalous” amendments to the Law on the Cabinet and the Law on Denationalization of Public Property. Essentially, says Batrîncea, the complaint challenges the “Cabinet’s power to make secret deals and authorize illegal privatizations”.

Batrîncea argued that the amendments, adopted by the PAS majority, enable the executive branch to adopt protocol decisions, exceeding the jurisdiction granted by the Constitution. This, according to Batrîncea, allows the Cabinet to “make important decisions in secret, without public debates and without publishing them official, violating the principle of transparency”.

The Com-Soc leader further claims that the adopted Law on Denationalization is “proof of protectionism towards a certain business”. In his opinion, a “great threat is created for state companies” as, he claims, a number of strategic assets have been “secretly removed” from the list of companies that may not be privatizes.
