Collections into Chisinau budget lower than 80%

By June 1, the municipal authorities managed to collect into the budget only 894.9 million lei of the projected revenues of 914 million lei, Margareta Batca, deputy head of the General Finance Division, has told Info-Prim Neo. “We analyze meticulously all the sources of income so as to cover the costs planned by the Chisinau Municipal Council,” she said. Economic entities’ overdue income tax payments to the national public budget on June 1 totaled 40 million lei - 19.5 million lei to the state budget and, respectively, 19.6 million lei to the municipal budget. The overdue VAT payments added up to 89.1 million lei. These payments are made into the state budget. The real estate tax arrears were 5.7 million lei. This tax is transferred to the local budget. Overall, the economic entities working in Chisinau owe over 187 million lei to the national public budget, including 55.6 million lei to the local budget. Owing to the debts, the pensions and allowances for socially vulnerable persons are not paid on time.
